About Military Engineering Services
When the subcontinent’s armed forces were reconstituted for allocation to the dominions of Pakistan and India following independence in 1947, a broad formula was adopted for the distribution of Military Engineer Services. It was decided that the territory, Northern Command cantonments (with the exception of East Punjab) would become MES of the Pakistan Army. As a result, the Engineer-in-Chief of Pakistan gained control of the Northern Command of the MES. The Engineer-in-Chief maintained total control over the corps of Engineers and MES as a whole, just as it did in India until 1960. For the three services, he only had one Director of Work. He only had one Director of Work for the three services, namely the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Military Engineer Services is divided into two parts and is organized on an inter-services basis. The Engineer-in-office Chief and four MES Wings, one for each of the Ministry of Defence’s Army, Navy, Airforce, and Defence Production Division; each wing is led by a DW&CE with the rank of Brigadier/Commodore/Air Commodore/ Chief Engineer. The headquarters of MES is in Rawalpindi, and the current E-in-C of the Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers, Military Engineer Services, and Frontier Works Organisation is Lt. Gen Kashif Nazir.

- Charge Hand B&R: Matric, minimum two years course (civil) with one-year job experience.
- Switch Board Attendants: Matric with a certificate of Electration with one-year job experience.
- Air Conditioner/Refrigerator Mechanics: Matric, certificate of Refrigerator/AC Mechanic with one year of job experience.
- Oil Engine Drivers: Matric, course of auto or Generator Mechanic, and holding valid driving license HTV/LTV.
- Linemen: Matric, certificate of Lineman with one-year job experience.

- Meter Readers: Matric, course of meter reading from WAPDA.
- MT Driver: Primary, valid driving license holder.
- Painters: Matric, certificate of trade (Painter) with one-year job experience.
- Pipe Fitters/Plumbers: Matric, certificate of trade (Pipe Fitter/Plumber) with one-year job experience.
- Motor Pump Attendant: Matric, course of Pump Mechanic/Operator.

- Candidates of BPS 6 & 7 will be called for screening (written) tests and candidates of BPS-4 will be called for a skill test.
- Written and screening tests should be held in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Karachi, Pano Aqil, Quetta and Hyderabad candidates must specify in their online application form.
- Submit the Complete application along with attested copies of all educational, and experience certificates, recent photographs, domicile, and CNIC within the due date of 05 March 2023.
